Dennis LeupoldDemi Lovato and Halsey were both clapping back at fans on social media for different reasons.
Demi found herself having to defend her sobriety after a photo surfaced of her hanging out with old Disney Channel friends with a drink in her hand.
The photo was posted on a fan Instagram account for the singer Hayley Kiyoko and a follower pointed it out, noting that the same photo was shared by Demi’s other friends with the drink shaded out.
“I’m not tryna question Demi’s sobriety bc I have a lot of respect for her,” the commenter wrote in part. “It just seems weird that her best friends post this pic with it shaded and then Hayley who isn’t rlly that close to Demi posts the one where you can see what she’s holding?? Tf is going on.”
Demi quickly shut it down by responding, “I don’t have to defend anything but it was Red Bull.”
Last month, Demi marked six years sober.
Meanwhile, Halsey had to defend herself after one male Twitter user made fun of her armpit hair.
After she posted a photo of herself with her unshaven armpit partially visible, the Twitter user reposted the image with a sticker saying “LOL” and the caption “what the hell is this?!!!”
Halsey tweeted back, “It’s an armpit you’ve put a sticker over. Not sure what else there is here to explain?”
Her pal Charli XCX later tweeted that she hadn’t shaved her legs in ages, to which Halsey replied, “Saaaaaaaame. Charli xcx ft halsey Drake remix ‘Shave For What’ coming spring 2018.”
