Dick Clark Productions/Republic RecordsShe mentioned it last night on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, but now it’s confirmed: Ariana Grande will open the 2018 Billboard Music Awards, airing later this month.
Ariana will kick off the show by performing a song from her upcoming album, Sweetener. She joins previously announced performers Camila Cabello, Dua Lipa, Shawn Mendes and BTS on the telecast.
The leading nominees for this year’s BBMAs are Ed Sheeran, Kendrick Lamar and Bruno Mars, each of whom have 15 nods. Voting for the two fan-voted categories — Billboard Chart Achievement Award and Top Social Artist — will be open soon.
Kelly Clarkson hosts the 2018 Billboard Music Awards live from Las Vegas, May 20 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
