Luke GilfordFighters and Lovatics, your new anthem has arrived.

“Fall In Line,” the duet from Christina Aguilera and Demi Lovato, is out now, along with a lyric video.  The song carries a powerful message of female empowerment, as Demi and Christina express their anger at how women are sidelined and objectified in our culture.

Christina and Demi each take a verse of the song, and in the chorus, they come together to sing, “It’s just the way it is/And maybe it’s never gonna change/But I got a mind to show my strength/And I got a right to speak my mind/And I’m gonna pay for this/They’re gonna burn me at the stake/But I got a fire in my veins/I wasn’t made to fall in line.”

A distorted-sounding male voice, representing male oppression of women, is also heard during the song, chanting, “1, 2, 3/Right — 2, 3/Shut your mouth/Stick your a** out for me/March — 2, 3/1, 2, 3/Who told you you’re allowed to think?”

Christina tweeted, “To anyone who’s ever felt silenced and repressed, the truth seekers and bold thinkers… may you liberate your voice and break the mold, never back down, and never fall in line.”

Demi tweeted, “I hope you love this song as much as I do. It’s such an honor to lend my voice to this anthem for women with one of the most inspiring individuals I’ve ever met.”

The two vocal powerhouses will perform the song together this Sunday night on the 2018 Billboard Music Awards.
