Ariana Grande says new album feels like “warm yummy agave and clouds” with “a little bit of crying and sex on the side”

Republic RecordsEarlier this month, Ariana Grande told Jimmy Fallon that her new album would be called Sweetener, but it turns out she’s had that album title for a long time. 

Back on November 4, 2016, Ariana posted a photo of herself on Instagram, and captioned it “Sweetener.”  When a fan asked her Tuesday if she knew back then that that would be her album title, she responded, “yes ! i always knew . i know some people don’t understand it yet but the body of work feels like sweetener. like warm yummy agave. and clouds. w a little big of crying and sex on the side ?”

Ariana also responded, “Yes, very much so” to a fan who asked her if Sweetener is her favorite album thus far, and told another fan who asked if this “current era” of her career is her favorite, “yes ! i’m so grateful and happy and i miss u and i love this music and life and you.”

The “No Tears Left to Cry” star also said there are 15 songs on the new album, and revealed that one of them, “Get Well Soon,” is about a struggle she went through in 2017.

“isss ab my anxiety. i felt like i was floating for like 3 months last year & not in a nice way,” she explained. “like i [was] outside my body? was v scary and i couldn’t breathe well. so it’s ab that. & lots of voices in my head singin. i hope it comforts ppl who hear it pls.”

Finally, Ari confirmed that she’ll be touring next year behind the album.
