Justin BettmanJason Mraz, American Idol champ Fantasia, and The Weeknd will be on hand later this month in New York City to pay tribute to this year’s Songwriters Hall of Fame honorees.

While it hasn’t been announced exactly who will present which award to whom, we assume that Jason will be honoring his pal Sara Bareilles, who is receiving the prestigious Hal David Starlight Award. Jason and Sara co-starred in Waitress, the Broadway musical for which Sara wrote the music.

As for Fantasia, she’s likely going to be inducting Allee Willis into the Hall. Willis co-wrote the Tony and Grammy-winning Broadway musical The Color Purple, in which Fantasia starred. Willis also wrote or co-wrote hits like “September,” “Boogie Wonderland,” “Neutron Dance,” and the Friends theme, “I’ll Be There for You.”

The Weekend may be involved in the induction of top producer and writer Jermaine Dupri, or possibly another one of this year’s inductees, Kool & the Gang.

Other inductees at the June 14 ceremony include John Mellencamp, country star Alan Jackson, and top country songwriter Steve Dorff. Pop legend Neil Diamond will receive the Songwriters Hall of Fame’s most prestigious honor, the Johnny Mercer Award.
