As we wait for A Star Is Born to be released, Lady Gaga is apparently hard at work honing a new musical skill.

Producer and songwriter Mark Nilan Jr. posted a video over the weekend of Gaga – baton in hand – conducting an orchestra in the studio. The clip has no sound, but Nilan assures us she was a natural.

“You can go ahead and add conducting to the long list of her skills,” he writes on Instagram. “We had the orchestra coming in. Music prepared. Then decided to add orchestra to 1 more song, with 1 hour before the start time. We wrote this orchestra arrangement in an hour. With pencil and paper. I literally wore thru 4 pencils.”

He adds, “Have yet to come across anyone that can pull that off these days… And it sounds EPIC. Wait til u hear it.”

Fans began speculating whether or not the recording session was for a new Gaga album or the soundtrack for A Star Is Born. So far, no word on when or where we’ll hear the orchestral recording.
