Roger Alvarado, 23, of Homestead, FL, climbed a ladder to the townhouse in New York’s TriBeCa neighborhood, used a brick to break a glass window and then attempted to remove property from inside, police said.  The singer wasn’t home at the time — in fact, it’s currently under renovation.

Taylor already has an order of protection against Alvarado from a 2018 incident, in which he broke into the same location, used her shower and was found sleeping in her bed. He pleaded guilty, was sentenced to six months in jail, and ordered to complete a mental health program.

Since Taylor owns several properties on the same street, it’s not clear if the 2018 break-in was at the same townhouse as this latest break-in.

After he was released from jail for the previous break-in, Alvarado was supposed to have returned to Florida to serve five years’ probation but evidently, that didn’t happen.

This time around, he’s charged with stalking, burglary, felony criminal contempt for violating the order of protection, criminal mischief and two counts of possession of burglar tools, in this case, the brick. He’s due in court later today.

In her new essay for ELLE magazine, Taylor explains why she’s always fearful of being attacked.

“Websites and tabloids have taken it upon themselves to post every home address I’ve ever had online,” she writes. “You get enough stalkers trying to break into your house and you kind of start prepping for bad things.”
