Pacific RecordsColton Underwood is used to taking risks. On The Bachelor season finale Tuesday night, he put his heart on the line to win back Cassie Randolph, the girl of his dreams — and it paid off. While the two aren’t engaged, they are now happily dating. But recently, he took another risk by making his recording debut.

The former football star has collaborated on a new track with the boy band O-Town called “Hello World,” which is out now.

Colton tells ABC Radio he ran into O-Town’s Jacob Underwood – no relation – at a radio studio and they quickly made plans to work together.

“He was like, ‘Hey I’ve been working on this song,’ and I was like, “’I’ve been wanting to do a song, can I see the lyrics?’” he says. “And he sent me the lyrics and we tweaked them a little bit. I sort of wrote part of it in there and it came together awesome.”

He says when he went to film content for the single with the band, Jacob pushed him to get in the booth and sing the song himself.

“Granted they computerized the heck out my voice and chopped it up,” Colton says. “[But] I do have a line in the song!”

Proceeds from the song will help raise money and awareness for Colton’s charity, the Colton Underwood Legacy Foundation, which provides funds and support for people with cystic fibrosis.

“The song’s intent and purpose is to spread positivity, to inspire people to live their best lives and to not let anything hold them back, to get what they deserve and go for it,” Colton says.
