Shock Collar Question – March 18

Today’s Question: The phrase “March Madness” was first coined in 1982 when sportscaster Brent Musburger said it while covering the NCAA tournament. However, according to one high school, it was not the first time that someone had used the term when referring to a basketball tournament. In that vein, today’s Shock Collar has to do with copyright and who owns certain phrases.

Young Jeffrey has three examples of copyright or trademark applications and Jose needs to figure out if the applications were accepted or denied in order to avoid the Shock Collar. The three examples are…

Facebook asked to trademark the word “Face”…

and Twitter asked to trademark the word “Tweet”…
