“Equal Means Equal” is an award-winning 90-minute documentary offering an unflinching look at the treatment of women in the United States today. View the film and join the discussion Thursday, March 22 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. upstairs at the downtown library (610 Quincy Street).
In 1982, ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment failed by just three states. As a result, women are not guaranteed equal protection in the areas of employment, criminal justice and healthcare. Paulette “Punkin” Schenck, Democracy in Action Co-chair, will lead a discussion on this timely topic at the conclusion of the film. DIA sponsors the film in observance of Women’s History Month.
