Book to Film Movie Night: “Suffragette”

March 23, 2018 @ 6:30 PM - 8:15 PM

We do not want to be law breakers. We want to be law makers. In celebration of Women’s History Month, our March Book to Film Movie selection is “Suffragette.” Friday, March 23 from 6:30 – 8:15 p.m. at the downtown library (610 Quincy Street, upstairs) we’ll screen the story of the early feminist movement in 19th century London. Women were forced underground to pursue their fight for equality after peaceful protests achieved nothing.

Starring Carey Mulligan, Helena Bonham Carter and Meryl Streep, “Suffragette” is based on the book “The Suffragette: The History of the Women’s Militant Suffrage Movement” by Sylvia Pankhurst. Popcorn and beverages will be served. Rated PG-13.
