Book to Film Movie Night: “Marshall”

May 11, 2018 @ 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM

Part biography, part legal thriller, see the critically-acclaimed 2017 film “Marshall” on our big screen on Friday, May 11, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. upstairs at the downtown library (610 Quincy Street). Starring Chadwick Boseman, Sterling K. Brown, Kate Hudson and Josh Gad, the screenplay follows a young Thurgood Marshall, a lawyer for the NAACP sent to conservative Connecticut to defend an African-American chauffeur accused of crimes against a white society woman. The case proves to be complex with unexpected twists and turns that shape Marshall’s lifelong fight for justice in America.

“Marshall is based on the novel “Young Thurgood: The Making of a Supreme Court Justice” by Larry S. Gibson, the only biography endorsed by Marshall’s immediate family.

Popcorn and beverages will be served. Rated PG-13.
