Our June Lunch & Learn brings the keynote speaker for our STAR_Net Explore Tech: Engineers Make a World of Difference exhibit. Dr. Rachel MK Headley will speak Wednesday, June 20 from noon to 1 p.m. at the downtown library (610 Quincy Street, upstairs). Dr. Headley is a scientist with expertise in biogeography, geo informatics (GIS) and earth-imaging satellite science. She has managed special projects such as the Global Land Surveys and the technical aspects of the Global Archive Consolidation, bringing Landsat images back to the United States Geological Survey. She speaks on topics ranging from satellite science to local food to leadership.
Dr. Headley’s appearance is supported by STAR_Net (Science-Technology Activities and Resources for libraries), a production of the National Center for Interactive Learning at the Space Science Institute, the American Library Association, the Lunar and Planetary Institute, the Afterschool Alliance and the National Science Foundation.
