Jeremy Fields to Come to the Dahl Arts Center

October 30, 2019 @ 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

The Rapid City Arts Council along with the Dahl Arts Center are proud to present Jeremy fields as an incoming guest speaker. He is the founder of Thrive Unlimited, a company that provides training for Native American communities. Their primary focus is to “implement proactive solutions towards mental, emotional and psychological well-being for both youth and adults.”

Jeremy Fields is a descendent of the Kitkehaki band of the Pawnee Nation of Oklahoma, the Ties the Bundle clan of the Crow Tribe of Montana, and the Chickasaw Tribe of Oklahoma. A self-taught artist of multiple disciplines, he is an accomplished muralist, painter, bead worker, photographer and graphic designer. His work is centered on cultural aesthetics, always aiming to communicate lessons and stories through his expression. Throughout his upbringing and travels, he has been heavily influenced by the numerous tribes he’s encountered and their respective craftsmanship which has allowed him to produce work that resonates cross culturally. His work is centered on creating visual interpretations of indigenous philosophy as a means of cultural preservation and to bring traditional wisdom to present context by combining traditional motifs with modern techniques and design styles.

His presentation will take place on Wednesday, October 30th in the Vucurevich Events Center inside the Dahl Arts Center. It will be from 6:00 – 8:30pm and is free to attend. Please join us to hear his journey and support Native American artists and entrepreneurs.
