38th Annual McBride Military Appreciation BBQ Celebrates Local Heroes
(RAPID CITY, SD) — The Black Hills community is honored to host Ellsworth AFB and several South Dakota National Guard units. We deeply appreciate the unwavering dedication of our military members and their families in safeguarding our national freedoms. Each year, we gather at the McBride Military Appreciation BBQ to celebrate the exceptional achievements of these Airmen and Soldiers in both their careers and the community. Join us in honoring these local heroes at the 38th Annual McBride Military Appreciation BBQ on July 12, from 5 – 8 p.m., at the Central States Fairgrounds.

Hosted by the Black Hills Military Advisory Coalition (BHMAC), this event has grown from a casual BBQ and potluck into a large-scale community celebration. Now, over 500 military families come together for this special occasion. The event is free and open to the public, offering a range of family-friendly activities including a kids’ zone, live music, displays from first responders, and the traditional BBQ and pig roast.

This year, we are thrilled to feature a special performance by the 147th Army Band, South Dakota National Guard.
