Mike has been in the broadcasting profession for over 30 years. He started his love for radio at 15 years old with his first job while in high school at a station in Kansas City then was recruited to the Black Hills where he worked for Haugo Broadcasting, Duhamel Broadcasting, Connoisseur Media, Pandora and now back at Haugo Broadcasting. He’s been at Hits 102.7 since the station went in the air in 2008.
While working in the radio industry Mike has contributed his services to various local charities. He participated with Feeding South Dakota, Walk a Mile in Her Shoes for WAVI and the Guns and Hoses blood drive.
A little over a year ago Mike was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He had surgery this past summer to remove the prostate. After the surgery was completed the Doctors discovered that Mike still has cancer as it had spread to wall of the bladder. He will be returning to the Mayo Clinic to begin the plan for radiation.
Please join us at Sickies Garage September 19th for the Cancer Benefit for Mike. He has done so much for the community that it’s time the community shows him their support. Sickies will donate 15% of all dinner sales to Mike. In order for the profits to be donated, people will need to use their Sickies rewards card. If you do not have a rewards card you can sign up for one the night of the event.
Anyone who uses a Sickies rewards card the night of the benefit will be put into a drawing for a $100 Sickies gift card. There will also be a silent auction and 50/50 raffle.
